Candy Lasses by Paula Evans Ingredients: 1 1/2 c flour (7.5 oz) 1/2 t baking powder 1/2 t salt 1/2 t cinnamon 1/2 t nutmeg 1/4 t ginger 2/3 c butter (1 1/3 sticks or 10 T + 2 t) 1/4 c sugar (1.9) 1/4 c packed brown sugar (2.2 oz) 1 egg, unbeaten 2 T Molassas 1/2 c peppermint stick candy finely crushed Icing: 2c sifted powdered sugar 1/2 t Vanilla 2 t peppermint stick candy, crushed 2 T softened butter few drops red food coloring, to tint light pink milk Instructions: sift togethrt flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg,and ginger. cream butter, sugar and brown sugar. Blend in egg and molassas, beat well. Add crushed peppermint and dry ingredients to wet mixture and mix well. Drop by spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 for 12 to 15 minutes. Frosting: Combine all ingredients and mix well. Add milk to desired consistancy. Frost cookies.
